Your telling her you hated them was incentive. I know. My mom also hated them. I felt such glee when I got one. |
Yes! It’s gotta be the same anti-tattoo loon. The one that doesn’t know what controlling means. And will never cut the apron strings. And thinks all tattoos are trashy. She’s definitely spicing up my Friday morning! |
Okay, desperate tramp stamp old lady. Enjoy your retirement years. Your kids will be unsuccessful and living with you. |
| Remind them that it is the equivalent of a college student in 1977 deciding to permanently affix their purple plaid bell bottoms to themselves for the rest of their life. Or me in the mid 1980s deciding to go through the rest of my life with permed enormous hair. Encourage self-expression through a nose ring (piercings easy to remove) or a tattoo on a more covered part of the body. What is edgy and cool at age 19 is cringe-worthy at 30. I am SO glad that tattoos were not a thing when I was in college. This approach seems to be resonating with my younger college kids. Oldest has---shall we say---made some VERY unfortunate tattoo choices. I find it so sad---she looks back on her HS senior photo and hates the way she chose to wear her hair. I just wonder if she will feel the same way re her extremely unattractive forearm tattoo in 8 years time. |
Here's some info on it. Maybe more pertinent to those planning to deliver children. Or do athletes get epidurals for big injuries? https://tattify.com/epidurals-and-tattoos/#google_vignette |
PP. You didn't even quote me right. Real estate is a slang term for the space on which designs are applied. A tattoo is a design. See this example from a webpage about web design below. "Too much blank space is probably one of the most common notes designers get from clients. Why is that? To the untrained eye, empty space, or whitespace, serves no purpose. Unfortunately, many clients think of it as a waste of valuable real estate. They want to fill it with either content or some kind of design element to "make it pop." Lol. I think guys with whitespace are hotter. Does that make more sense? |
DP. Hon, you need to understand the nuance of the different types of control. You are hell bent on some narrow view of it as if it’s some dystopian type. Parents have some control of their children until they are fully fledged. You either had no good parental upbringing or are incredibly naive. |
How about guys with no tattoos? |
Is something wrong with you? What are you rambling on about? |
|
I had a personal rule that I had to want a specific tattoo for two years without changing my mind or forgetting about it. It served me well.
If my dd starts talking about tattoos in college I might try to bribe her to adhere to it too. |
Ooh the “Hon” is a nice touch! Loon PP take note - you’ve got some competition here. May I suggest just a touch more self righteousness next time? And your insults need a little work. Not enough flair. “Naive” is somewhat weak. |

"Once he has graduated and is older, he can make his own decision on that."
Unfortunately (for you) he's old enough now to make his own decision on that. |
No, I call like it is. One thing you’re right about is the weak part. Naive people are weak. |
He can and she can discourage it. |
Nah, your attempt at trying to be cute is a momentous fail. Try another tactic. |
