It's really easy to figure out what universal health care might look like because every other developed country has it. And they do complain about it but would not trade it for our messed up system. Look at the UK, France, Canada etc. |
DP here and give me a break - it’s not “unconscionable” that she doesn’t have health insurance. Unconscionable would be not getting medical care for her children which one can get without insurance. Anyway I stopped reading around page 4 bc this is another - I don’t wanna work because I wanna raise my kids and besides i can’t get a job that pays me enough even though i haven’t tried and don’t wanna and I refuse to see past my kids early years … and on and on |
It absolutely is because they have the income to afford it. |
|
I actually don’t think that’s an outrageous price. My health care premiums are pretty pricey. If I didn’t have to pay them for a few months that ER visit would be paid for.
I’m sure my premiums or taxes would be way higher if we had universal healthcare. It’s a burden that would mostly fall on the middle class. |
There’s no incentive to have HI. What I pay per month on the marketplace is ridiculous AND I still have to pay astronomical bills until I meet a high deductible. It’s basically catastrophic coverage only. I get a yearly physical for $40 copay. Big whoop. |
I'm sorry you don't understand what it means to insure against a potential loss. Have fun paying out of pocket for a cardiac surgery. |
Medical debt isn’t reportable anymore. The uninsured just don’t pay |
Or cancer, or getting hit by a bus. You are incredibly lucky to be so ignorant. This minor ER bill is the greatest medical expense you can fathom. |
Paying for it isn’t an issue because no one has to actually provide care except the ER so you’re not getting cancer treatment or cardiac surgery. |
The system IS broken. I had an insurance coverage and had to go to the ER for a miscarriage. They made me sit for hours before taking me in. I can't explain the physical and mental pain I went through. To top it all, I received a bill of more than $1500 since my deductible had not been met until that point. |
I'm sorry you had to wait, but that's how ERs work. It has nothing to do with insurance - - there are limited beds in the ER and they have to triage life threatening issues first. This is true anywhere in the world. |
You don't understand what you're saying. A hospital can and will still sue you for unpaid medical debt. And, newsflash, they don't have to provide non-emergent care to someone who can't pay. Good luck getting cancer treatment or cardiac surgery. |
You realize you don’t have to pay for any of this and it won’t even affect your credit report? The Dems signed into the law, you can be a criminal and not pay your healthcare bill and it’s all good. Stop complaining |
It is actually. Healthcare is a right and other first world countries have found a way to give people low or free healthcare. It’s abhorrent that we bankrupt our citizens for them to get healthcare. And don’t give me BS about how bad those other countries’ systems are. I have relatives in two of them. I assure you, however imperfect they are, it’s better than here. |
| The utter lack of empathy and compassion for people who cannot afford healthcare, or who have to make decisions about their hybased on ability to pay is absolutely nauseating. It’s a moral indictment on many of you and this country. Greatest country in the world, my a$$. |
