It’s not just the young people who are daily smokers, it’s the young people whose parents/caregivers are daily smokers. What do you think a young person’s brain is going to be like who was exposed to marijuana smoke from birth? What about those whose mothers smoked while pregnant? We know secondhand tobacco smoke is dangerous and everyone knows about fetal alcohol syndrome, but while people may talk about the annoying stench of marijuana they encounter in passing, the problem of kids who are regularly exposed to marijuana seems to be largely ignored. If we really care about kids, or even selfishly for ourselves who will be dependent on the next generation to take over society and be our doctors, pharmacists, caregivers, etc., we need to address this. |
Don’t waste your time doing this…. |

I live in Canada and I think the whole country must smell like weed.
People driving high is a big problem. |
It is usually labeled DUI so people just assume alcohol. Regardless, https://www.cnn.com/2023/09/06/health/marijuana-traffic-accidents-wellness/index.html |
It’s not the “working segments” - dopeheads basically just stop working altogether. |
I’ve driven a farm tractor brush hogging an overgrown field while stoned and it’s a miracle I didn’t kill myself with it. Fortunately I got it stuck in some mud and gave up for the day before I got into a situation where it flipped over on top of me. I was young and really dumb, but doing that thst one time was enough to make me understand how dangerous it was for me to have done that. But you are seriously, dangerously, recklessly stupid, if you really believe what you posted. And if you do believe it, I hope one day a person driving high runs into you and changes your mind with something you’ll deal with the rest of your life. |
So what you’re saying is….reaction times are slowed significantly? Interesting
What about that slower reaction time when your toddler runs out into the street in front of them without looking? You still gonna be cool with stoners behind the wheel as you’re burying your 2 year old? |
It IS happening.

YES!!! I wish more people had some free thought!!! |
| I get to smell it at 8am as I drive all along North Capitol to work. Seems like half of DC switched from morning coffee to morning pot. |
A larger tax base for the state, towns can also tax sales of marijuana and earmark it for schools, less money going to drug cartels, less young people going to jail for a victimless crime. Also people use the drug to relieve nausea, anxiety, pain among other medical issues. And just as important one less way the government interferes with people’s personal choices. In Southern states like Alabama and Mississippi and Texas it’s still an offense that people are locked up over one joint and fined like $8,000. Marijuana has never been scarce in this country. Now it’s sold legally and taxed. Deal with the smell. |
You sure are naive if you thought people stopped smoking at a certain age or income. Just like alcohol it’s an all ages vice. |
You must be high |
Some states legalized weed almost thirty years ago so I don’t understand what you mean by it’s only a matter of time. Some studies show some states saw small increases in crashes some showed small decreases in crashes. People who would drive while impaired would usually have a high alcohol level and/or other drugs mixed with the weed consumption. |
Ok, MAGA.
