RFK Jr. Running as independent

Things are going wonderfully.

Half the country hates the other half, in both directions.

Chant that repeatedly.

It is ridiculous he doesn't have SS protection.

Mike Pence of “hang Mike Pence” fame doesn’t even have Secret Service protection. They can’t give it to everyone who runs for President this early.

Surely a Kennedy married to a Hollywood star can afford some security guards. The Secret Service doesn't get assigned until the candidate wins a primary. Maybe he should drop out. Hey, he's the one who wanted to let Sirhan Sirhan out of prison.

I mean as long as he's not taking away vax from anyone which I don't think he can - we do have a running democracy with Congress legislating, I'm not sure I really care and I'm not anti vax. What I do care about is who he may appoint to Supreme Court given abortion policy as Im heavy pro choice. I care about his stance on immigration, foreign policy and how he fares in the world as a leader. I care about his competence but I don't know that I need to agree on 100% of his beliefs and platforms. I know I'm not voting for crazy Trump and I know I can't vote for Biden/Kamala as I have zero trust in either to lead effectively moving forward. So I'm just saying, if it's just the 3 of them, maybe I'll actually hear Kennedy out.

As I said he will pull from both parties

He just came out in favor of reparations. He’s done on the R side.

I wonder what his endgame is
He was pulling from Rs before, it seems

The Republicans are the reason he’s in the race. They probably just waved more money at him. Or threatened him; it’s not like they have any problem with that.

I’m a Life long Dem but I hate Joe Biden and incremental progress. In fact I hate progress at all as a Life long Dem and so I am supporting this totally sane, not at all supported by Russia, independent ticket. /s

I can’t wait to see an apoplectic Trump try to withdraw his pardon of Flynn. Trump will reveal all the wrongdoing Flynn committed. #ETTD

The only hope for anyone other than Trump or Biden to be elected will be through an alternative R or D candidate that emerges due to Trump or Biden backing out of the race or in Trump's case being forced out due to legal issues. An independent party candidate can not pull enough R and D voters away from their loyalties between now and election day 2024. If one of them backs out of the race, the other one will have little chance of beating any well established and well liked candidate that jumps in the race. Vote for Kennedy if you think he is the person for the job but he isn't winning.

Even if Trump is in jail (which he wouldn't be by then) the MAGAs will still vote for him.

And yes, independents can pull enough votes to impact the election. See 2006 where Putin-funded Jill Stein pulled enough to scuttle the Clinton bid.

DP. Nader, Nader, Sanders/Stein. Kennedy/Flynn can’t win, but they can get Treason Trump in if enough people (“Life long Democrats”) decide to screw over America.

True. I guess our only hope is for Trump and/or Biden to back out so we don't have to worry about surprises or spoilers

Highlights from his economic policy are decidedly left.

Raise the minimum wage to $15, which is the equivalent to its 1967 level.

Prosecute union-busting corporations so that labor can organize and negotiate fair wages.

Expand free childcare to millions of families with programs like that pioneered by the state of New Mexico.

Drop housing costs by $1000 per family and make home ownership affordable by backing 3% home mortgages with tax-free bonds.

Negotiate trade deals that prevent low-wage countries from competing with American workers in a “race to the bottom.”

Rein in military spending and use the resources to fund infrastructure, health care, higher education, child care, and domestic prosperity.

Make student debt dischargeable in bankruptcy and cut interest rates on student loans to zero.

Cut drug costs by half to bring them in line with other nations
