Is this the company owned by Hans? Niko’s former Revolution co-founder in arms who then had a terrible fallout with the German, was booted out of the club in horrible terms and came back running after direktor was fired for moral turpitude?

Does anyone have experience with the "Elite Academy at Virginia Tech"? The website makes it sound like its targeted toward players on a D1 pathway. My DD is second division NCSL at U12. She would love to attend but I don't want her to be too out of place.

Personally I'm interested in something for a very highly motivated and technically capable U9G who is P1 in a fairly competitive club. Was considering Dutch School, but always happy to hear about any other good experiences.

What is P1? And anything you do at this age, you will have older kids that will be better. Just do something close to home.

P1 is top team, I thought everyone knew that, sorry. Off course the older kids will be better, thats the point of having her train with older kids.

Never heard the term "P1" before, are you from another country? Strange.

Regardless, any little 8 year old kiddo will be challenged just fine at any local camp with kids a few years older. No need to drive far or spend a lot of money for such young kids.

EVERYBODY claims it’s a pathway to D1. Likely have a broad range of player skills there, if she wants the challenge and loves the game let her try it and find out. You get better by training and learning with better players than yourself. Hope she has a blast and makes new friends.

My DD had a tremendous amount of fun. Not to be snarky but most kids were of a higher level as it isnt cheap so those who send kids are willing to spend a little extra for the training.

Had anyone sent their DD to the university of Maryland sleepaway camp? Worth it?

She'll be fine. My DD did it as a rising U11 at that level. They cater to a wide range of players and there were lots of other "well off" families whose players were even lower level than mine and were fine.

DD U14 had only been doing travel gor a year. I love that it’s only 2 night/3 day. I’ve heard good things.

Agree that Soccer Academy is a joke.

What about Dutch Soccer? Anyone who had a kid there recently, maybe last year?

Every year this question gets asked and every year there are like one or two replies... its funny how there are a million replies when it comes to trashing clubs, but almost no replies evaluating the various local soccer camp scene. These camps are full every year, so obviously there are plenty of people here who have exp - I guess providing opinions on camps is not as fun as trolling the club threads.
