Magruder school renaming process

I want to change the Magruder name simply because only bad news comes up with it on Google searches at this point. That doesn’t serve the kids all. A renaming/rebranding may seem performative to some, but I think it is the right way to go after the first school shooting inside a school in Montgomery County.

well, the MCCPTA president got her husband to start the petition. But yes, they are white. She also pushed back against having SROs in school, and as soon as they were taken out, a Magruder child got shot in the bathroom.

MCCPTA really needs some new folks to come in.

Renaming the school doesn't change what happened and this can easily happen again given the lack of security. Better to spend that money on security.
