OP, what are you doing now in terms of eating and exercise? |
What about Ideal Protein or EMP 180? I have a friend who did one of those and lost a ton of weight. |
Someone actually said “oh please we watch the Biggest Loser and it’s easy to lose weight “
I mean has there ever been a nastier or less self aware poster on dcum????? And we got some really nuts right wingers here, but this is just too much. |
Write down everything you eat. Throw out all the tempations..and don't buy them..chips, cookies etc. If you eat watching TV eat something healthy. Start walking. Do 150 minutes exercise per week. Make realistic changes...an action plan to walk 3x per week rather than 7 days for a hour. Treat yourself once in a while but order half of what you would get. |
I'm 5'7 and 185 and my pcp referred me to a weight loss clinic to get a semaglutide (the family practice I go to does not prescribe weight loss drugs). I want to lose about 35 pounds. You could try a different provider or possibly just go to a weight loss clinic directly. |
If she were actually going to tell you, she would have done so by now. |
Yeah you have to stay on The Biggest Loser for life too. |
Ozempic. I’m type 2 diabetes and have lost slow with zero side effects. 18 pounds in 14 weeks. |
Ozempic or Wegovy |
I’m down 55 pounds in 7 months with Mounjaro. No plans to quit! |
Try Wegovy! (Same drug as ozempic, but the dosing regimen for weight loss). I’m in a similar situation (5’8”, 200 pounds, 38 years) and losing while on it has gone smoothly so far. My insurance covers it with prior auth (BCBS federal employee program, basic plan). If you have private insurance other than Medicaid/Medicare/Tricare there’s a good chance it’ll be covered with prior auth paperwork. |

Just keep an open mind on the dosing because I think I might actually die on the dose approved for weight loss based on how bad my side effects were at only .5mg. But on a lower dose I am chugging along. |
Op has requested non meds advice. |
Np, and same. I am approaching my five year anniversary at the end of the month, and it remains as one of the best decisions I have made. I started at 214, 5'6, and I am currently holding steady at 137. I was 40 when I got the surgery and feel like I gained so much of my life back. I went to Mexico as I didn't feel like dealing with the red tape of my insurance company. |
