+1 and wrap up your slice of cake in a napkin to take home!
Good times!

Erm I’m in my 30s and I still wrap stuff in napkins to take home sometimes! I mean, not at a wedding.

What’s readily available in the suburbs is very different from what’s readily available in the city. Unless by city, you mean, like Cleveland or something.

I'm from the south. Weddings were not in the firehall but in the church basement. As little girls, we'd take the cake home in a napkin, too.. Story was to put it under your pillow and you would dream about your future groom! And, the only food served was --at best--tea sandwiches and buttermints.

Meatloaf w/BBQ sauce and bacon on top
Lasagne
Baked chicken and dumplings
Shake and bake pork chops
Pot roast w/carrots and potatoes
Steak
Cheeseburgers
Tuna casserole

Sides:
Mashed potatoes
Baked potatoes
Au gratin potatoes
Rice
Noodles

Corn
Green beans
Peas
Asparagus
Brussel sprouts
Squash casserole
Salad
Watermelon and cantaloupe

When dad wasn't home for dinner:

Fish sticks and french fries or tater tots
Pizza
Chinese food
Grilled cheese sandwiches
Hot dogs wrapped in crescent rolls
Meals with no meat in them

I didn't know you posted here, Mom! Sending love. Thanks for all the good meals prepared after you got home from work. Full House is on at 8:00!

Will this hilarious White People dinner be followed by sarcastic Curry Dinner the next week and Deep South Fried Chicken Dinner the week after?

This list made me so hungry and wistful. I haven't had a pot roast in 20 years . . .
