St. Patrick’s vs NPS

Anonymous
I heard that the organized sports at st pat's and Nps do not start until they are much older. Are they playing lacrosse in kindergarten at St Pat's per the PP who talked about how lacrosse all started there in K? I find that hard to believe especially since the sporty kids apply out and go to Mater Dei, etc.

NPS parent here and St. Pat’s is an awesome school. NPS is wonderful too. So are lots of others.

The hate on DCUM is cyclical. The pendulum will swing in another direction soon, and people will disparage Beauvoir before moving onto another. Rinse and repeat. Who cares?!

Beauvoir is actually really amazing though. The rest are hit or miss.

Oh no. Beauvoir must be slipping. For years and years on DCUM it was magical. Now it’s simply really amazing.

Not good at all.

Meant to say magical. I misspoke. Don’t be a hater. It’s bad for the soul.

Beauvoir is actually super overrated.

How so? We didn’t apply and really feel like we missed out …

We just started K at Beauvoir on Tuesday and it’s wonderful…but we also loved NPS and St. Pat’s. You didn’t miss out- all of these schools are wonderful in different ways.

“We” started K at Beauvoir on Tuesday? Aren’t you a little old for that, PP?

Why does that bother you?

Because it is poor communication, grammatically incorrect and sounds completely insipid.

Other than that, it’s a perfect statement.

I am the PP who said “we.” This is a term commonly used on this board and while it’s my kiddo starting K, we (and I do mean we) as a family are excited about joining the Beauvoir community. We (and I do mean we) got to know NPS and St Pat’s community members over the course of the application year last year and in each community we (and I do mean we) met wonderful people. These are all great schools with pros and cons on the margin. To the PP who asked, I don’t think you “missed out” on Beauvoir and we have friends who are having wonderful experiences at NPS and St. Pat’s. Here’s to everyone finding a good fit for their kids and their families.

Mr. Brophy is a legend! We had a daughter and a son who attended St. Patrick’s. He is a wonderful teacher, coach, and human being.

All three schools are great. Pick the best one for your child.
