No? I said I was shocked that's what modern men expect. |
Her father has an affair and impregnated the. Housekeeper. Parents get divorced , scandal and tabloid headlines. She's a Kennedy and has all their baggage. Also. No one, and I mean no one, has a perfect life. Her life is extremely privileged but the slings and arrows of life will catch up with her. |
Can't read it due to paywall, but will just go based on what people on DCUM say. I am happily married after coming from an abusive household. I have been married 20 years and still can't believe my husband is real and just a genuinely great person. I am bragging about him here, but never ever brag to anyone but him IRL. I don't need to prove anything to anyone and I know how awful people can be and would never want to make anyone feel bad. It's almost cliche that the people who brag are hiding major issues. Heck the family I grew up in was known as perfect-happy marriage, kids with top grades, yada yada and it was a living hell and my parents threatened to kill eachother on regular basis. I was forced to put on an act in public so they could show off. People who need others to envy them have deep seeded issues IMO. |
God, this is the same poster over and over again who is just irate that people aren’t jealous of the Christian housewife. Talk about triggers and projection! |
Yeah. When I married my husband 20 years ago we were both top graduates from top schools. He would never have dated any woman that wasn’t serious about her career and with top academic credentials. But now, 20 years down the road, it’s clear he would prefer a wife who works out all day and makes sure the house is spotless and organized. He keeps telling me I can quit and then I can go to the gym every day and get the house organized. Im clearly not the perfect wife. |
The article is clearly meant to be insulting but that doesn’t mean it was well done. It’s just sort of nothing for me. It didn’t land.
I fully agree that she is icky. No one is mad or jealous about the details of her life. Most people find creating a public, personal brand that’s so sanitized and sanctimonious to be kind of gross. It feels pompous and hubristic. But I actually think maybe what’s happening is those of us outside of Christian culture just aren’t used to it, whereas people inside Christian-land don’t find it jarring or unusual. |
They are basically the HBO Gemstones. Virtue signalers that wouldn't know how to be real Christians to save their life and I say that as an atheist. I'm more Christian than their fake a$$es |
She reminds me of Ivanka trump. Thin veneer. Little substance. |
Yes! Thank you for the perfect comparison. |
It's Brunch Granny and she's a tiresome bore who repeats this crap on any thread even tangentially related. She must be the type (self professed Grandma by 42!) and is obviously her calling in life to troll these threads. |
Probably relationship problems are happening. The celebs start selling the happy marriage line in a big way when things are going poorly.
|
She has a new book out. |
No, I think she’s the one getting punked. |
So is Katherine in this thread or what?? This combined with the Brooklyn dog comment makes me think so. |
It’s “nothing” and doesn’t land because that’s what the writer absorbed from Katherine; there wasn’t much substance or depth. There’s a lack of vulnerability and relatability and the article reflected its subject. And that’s fine - Katherine isn’t a bad person, and she isn’t harming anyone; she’s benign. Some people might emulate or aspire to that but most won’t pay much attention (although how were her books best sellers?). |
