Cutoffs won't come out until next school year although Compass will speculate.

Same.
And thank you for putting what I've been feeling into words!

I'm getting a DNS error from collegeboard, when I try to go to the section on PSAT or SAT.

Yesterday, I couldn't see the score report from March 2021.

In VA, and still no score for my FCPS student.

11th grader, 1350 = 98th percentile. The PPs above arguing about score and percentile distribution are not going to like this data point.

The only percentile chart I am aware of, currently, is this one: https://research.collegeboard.org/reports/sat-suite/understanding-scores/psat-nmsqt/user-percentiles

USER percentile is the applicable number, not national, even though College Board reports quote national. (They like to make it sound higher than it actually is.)

Interestingly enough, 1340 is, indeed, 98th percentile for 10th grade, though 94th percentile for 11th grade.

Realistically, my kid could meet the benchmark with just a little prep. But, he isn't going to win any scholarship competition b/c he doesn't have a "resume" of fabulous things he's done.

So, other than bragging rights on college apps, is there any value to being a NMSQT semifinalist?

A number of universities offer full rides for National Merit Scholars.

wut?

I think the percentile is on the score report. My 12th grader checked his scores this morning and the percentile was listed as well.
