Is there a book that changed your life? Or your life view?

How to Keep House with Drowning by KC Davis. She does an excellent job of emphasizing that it’s not a moral failure to have a messy house. Also helpful ways. To think about priorities when you can’t do everything.

About 10 years ago I read the Devil in Winter by Lisa Kleypas. I was working full time with two young kids, one of whom was particularly challenging at the time, and I was unable to read anything. Literary Fiction is often full of unhappy people in bad situations and I decided I could only cope with books with happy endings and characters I wanted to spend time with. It was such a breath of fresh air and really helped me at that time. I still read mostly romance for the same reasons. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend that particular book - I love romances but they don’t always age well.
