Why is my old neighbor mowing his lawn almost every day. Do I have recourse to report him?

Wait until fall. Leaf blowers, every day, dawn to dusk.

OP, have you consulted an audiologist? There are forms of hearing impairment that cause over-sensitivity to various kinds of noise.

He can’t stand his wife. That’s the only reason a guy mows DAILY. Even better if he has a John Deere with a cup holder.

OP, you are really reaching here. How about you chill out? You will be old some day too and may do equally annoying crap!

I doubt you are going to find any county noise ordinance that allows you to force your neighbor to stop mowing daily.

Talking to him in a CIVIL (which means calm yourself completely and do not go in accusing) is your best chance for success.

Keep your goal in mind (getting him to mow less often) and wipe what you think you are entitled to out of your head before you approach him. That's key if you want any chance of achieving your goal.

Don't even do that. It's a silly request.

I don't have time to talk to him and he is not very pleasant, he constantly complains about the neighbor behind him putting up a new fence. I'd rather let the authorities deal with him.

The authorities? This is a joke, right? OP, where do you live and where are you from that you think this is an actionable offense?

Maybe he can trim your wife’s bush instead?

Do we have the same neighbor? 70 something. Has explosive fights with his wife and then mows the lawn or even worse, blows the leaves from 8 am to 7 pm. Then goes inside and beats her up. He used to work in Baltimore for NG, so he was gone most of the week but he was recently let go and he's terrorizing everyone.

Omg, I'm the poster below with the neighbor who beats up his wife. You are so right. I replied without seeing yours first.

Everyone from Nova is this way. Very entitled and think the rules don't apply to them. They stalk people and talk a ton of shit all day long. They have nothing better to do and it makes them feel better about their own sad shitty lives.

Report him for what? Wanting to have a tidy lawn. This goes nowhere. Stop trying to control everyone.

You can move to a condo - then no one mows their lawn.

Are there any rules on this, I understand once or twice a week but almost every day is excessive.

He is retired probably age 60+

What do you mean “rules?” Do…do you think there’s a law that limits how often people can mow their yards?

Wow.

My money is on kids who “play” in the yard screaming like banshees.

You have time to post and read here. You have time to talk to him.

“The authorities” will do nothing, because he’s broken no laws. Or are you just a bored troll?

If anything he’ll at least be taught a lesson, probably for the first time in his life, not to be a self-centered jerk. Bet you he’s doing it intentionally, too, as some sort of misogynistic ritual marking his territory.

HAHAHA.

This --- very odd OP.

This is very odd
I’m sure the constant noise on a daily basis is very upsetting
Yes he can mow his lawn but it’s the same as smoking or talking loud on your phone, it effects other people and that not ok!
I once had a neighbor who would mow his lawn late at night with a push mower.

He’s either old, retired, a bit off or has a grudge against a neighbor
I don’t like to recommend 911 but I also don’t recommend talking to him.
If people cared or thought about their actions and how it may bother other people then they wouldn’t do it
Like talking loud on their phone and smoking. They don’t care. I do believe their are some people that just don’t realize the impact
of their actions but most don’t care unless they are under 26 and their minds do not think that way yet.

What if you sat outside and tried to talk to him about random stuff. He would have to stop mowing to answer and you can get a better sense of him.
Otherwise start mowing your lawn at 2 am and see how he likes it

JFC. Then OP would be violating the law, which the neighbor is not, genius.

I’ll bet his yard looks spectacular though. I’m jelly.
