Cornell was ED and got deferred until RD. Also in at UVA, VA Tech, GA Tech, UTexas, UCLA, UC San Diego, U Mich.

As much as DC wanted to go to Cornell initially, I think he may end up elsewhere.

Congratulations!

Why? These schools always admit roughly same number of students every year.

Duke was my sons dream school from 7th grade until 11th. Senior year decided he didn’t want to apply.
Something tells me both our kids will love where the end up! Congrats for CMU!

Well DD had 4.7 Weighted and 4.0 Unweighted GPA, 36 ACT, State Debate Championships and State Scholar, Class Council President etc ... Rejected at Yale & Duke.
Has to be between UCLA, Northwestern and W&M. She is happy though to choose between those three.

My daughter was waitlisted at Columbia. She's trying to decide between WUSTL and UNC.

A lot of rejections but seems like kids have choices most would be thrilled to have. This was my guess: things are working out!

Rejected for all ivy's for CS. Par for the course. 4.4 GPA (3.9UW), 1550 SAT single sitting. 12 APs- all 4s and 5s. College math through Calc 3 taken with As. Tons of incredible ECs in CS and athletics. Teachers and counselors said they raved. White male. Full pay.

Looks like he will be attending his 14th choice of college. He never felt he "deserved" anything- he is a gentle soul- but having been at the top of the class his entire life and working so hard and spending months on these applications, he is very quiet today, processing it.
