What is the best album of all time, in your opinion?

I just listened to Tracy Chapman's self titled album (the one that has Fast car on it) and it blew me away. Every song on that album is great.

Kind of Blue

Rumours and the Miseducation of Lauryn Hill are also great albums

Carrie and Lowell might be my favorite album.

But I think Born to Run is the best one.

Rumours, Fleetwood Mac

It meets many of the PPs requirements.

Tusk might have better songs that are not as over played as Rumours.

I'd say its a tie between this and A Night at the Opera by Queen.

But my personal favorite is Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morissette

Yes! Was about to post Jagged Little Pill! From start to finish, amazing.

Throwing in "Crash" by Dave Matthews (the whole album, not just the song). That is my go-to "if you could have take one album on a deserted island."

+1 Fast Car is right up there with Thunder Road.

For what it was supposed to be, Duran Duran's Rio is perfect. It's never been off my playlist. I am 52.

For me personally Pretty Hate Machine, Nine Inch Nails. My criteria is - what album can I take on a roadtrip and ONLY listen to? And that's it for me.

I’ve posted on this thread my support for Pearl Jam’s 10 and Counting Crows’ August and Everything After, but you’re right that Pretty Hate Machine was another album that was consistently good. Not a weak song in the bunch.

As an aside, love that Trent is now two-time-Oscar-winner Trent Reznor! Never would’ve imagined that back in high school or college!🤣

(I’m 46.)

The answer is Thriller.

Runner up is Purple Rain.

People saying Born in the USA are crazy. That's even Bruce's best album.
