90s was not the greatest decade, but last good decade in our lifetime.
2000-2021 has been a shit show of major stock market crashes, 9/11, a war, housing crash, pandemic and the advent of iPhone and Netflix that kinds ruined a lot. Seinfeld and Friends a lot of plot lines don’t work today. |

I paid $800 for an apartment in DuPont Circle, but there were two people murdered on the street within a block my apartment within a two week period. So there’s that. |
| I’m so glad that you all are nostalgic for a time in which the POTUS could sexually harass an intern in the Oval Office and get away with it. |
You don’t remember Headline News? It was on 24 hours a day. |
90s were when DC was still full of burned out blocks that were dangerous. |
The pound me too crowd is here! The intern was of legal age and the oral was consensual. I am frankly tired of the women coming forth 3 or 5 decades later when they're old and worn to have their chance in the spotlight to say they were raped 50 yrs ago. Like s t f u who cares after so much time has passed? Where's your proof ho? |
Ah yes we needed the help of the rich white man to develop and cash out the poorer black tenants who had rented for years in a gentrification area |
News flash: both the current POTUS and the previous POTUS have sexually harassed women. At least Clinton didn’t want to screw his own daughter. |
Huh? A couple years ago the POTUS staged an insurrection and got away with it. He sexually harassed women and girls everywhere and extorted a porn star. A simple affair with a younger woman sounds almost sweet by comparison. |
Funny, I've read this thread several times and I have yet to see a post that is nostalgic about the Clinton-Lewinsky scandal. No one liked it at the time either, except Ken Starr. The only people who ever savored it are folks like you. |
I don’t disagree with you, but it was actually earlier THIS year, 2021, not “a couple years ago”. Though I know 2021 has felt longer than a year… |

Apparently, none of you remember AIDS. Or the 1991 to 1993 recession that left my family homeless and took a decade to recover from. And ditto to the previous posts about sexual assault and harassment, which was a routine part of life for the women I knew on The Hill and K Street.
Agreed that all of those problems seem quaint compared to the past five years of domestic turmoil, but there must be something about the human mind that makes us see only the positive parts of the past if we’re all looking back at the 1990a with nostalgia now. |
