| Did anyone find a reasonably priced (preferably cotton) robe for a freshman girl? We would love to find a terry robe that will stand up to lots of laundering for under $50. Thanks. |
| We got a cheap cotton terry cloth robe at Ikea |
| Do kids wear robes in dorms? |

My daughter really likes this one:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005HFB2Q4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1&psc=1 Hers is light aqua, which does not seem to be available now. It is modest (not transparent) yet lightweight. Silky yet absorbent. |
No one did in my dd’s. They just used their towel. |
I think girls do. Boys just seem to wear LOOSELY wrapped towels (or at least that was my experience on several dorm tours!) |
Nope. You wear your towel or change into tank and shorts. |
| Make sure they have sandals or flip flops to wear in the gross shared shower also. |
|
My DD never wore her robe and brought it home the first time she came back to visit. I think she got hers at Ikea or Bed, Bath & Beyond.
She said nobody ever wore one. I asked my son if he ever saw girls wearing them and he said just the one girl from the deep South. |
| DS told DD she should get one for school..on the definitely list. |
| OP here. Thanks all. I don't know if she'll actually use it but given co-ed dorms and co-ed bathrooms, it's conceivable to me that she might want one. The Ikea one sounds perfect. |
Yeah a lot of girls just change into a tshirt and shorts from what I recall. Our shared bathroom had enough room and some hooks, benches that people could change in there like a locker room. |

Don't over think it, but get her something. I know my mom did and I was glad to have it. If she doesn't use it, oh well. If she wants it, then she has it.
I was in all-female dorm, but plenty of times people had visitors over, including men. |

Sounds right |
