Both DDs were in dorms with hall bathrooms and used robes alot. I also have also seen pics of them in robes at the dining hall, when visiting friend in other dorms at night and when going back to sorority houses for late night voting.

May I ask what college? My dd is in a sorority at a northeastern college and no one has a robe, nor would they ever dream of wearing one in public. This sounds southern sorority to me.

My dd uses a fleece robe with dogs on it from Vera Bradley. It was less than $25.

I think most students wear clothes when moving into a dorm but you do you.

What a snotty, obnoxious thing to say. I'm sure your daughter does LOTS of things she would never dream of telling you about for fear of you being embarassed by her. Pity. My DDs are at Vandy and one was at UVA, but is now heading to Upenn for med school... and she is taking her robe with her.

I agree. What an unkind thing of this person to say. Decency and respect has gone out the window in this country.

BTW, standing up to lots of laundering should not be a concern. There is as little laundering as possible in college dorms.

There is a lot of laundering money in college dorms.

But now they will have to clean their masks frequently...

My DD was super glad she brought a robe. She said that the girls in her hall either used robes or just their towel when walking back from the showers. She was glad she had a robe for extra security...and for the times she'd run into guys, or parents, or other strangers on her back.
