Best reusable masks to send with your kid to college?

I'm going to give him a box of disposable masks, but he needs some sturdy washable ones too. What has everyone found?
Also, any good masks for working out in the gym?

I’m pretty happy with the ones that are 2/$4 at Target. My Target had them on a rack next to the women’s clothing department.

I ordered a bunch from Old Navy after seeing one of my mom’s caregiver’s masks. They are all cotton and quite comfortable (for a mask,). Five masks for $12?

I just bought 20 Old Navy Masks for the family - 2 college students.

anything machine washable and dryable. They aren’t going to bother washing them if they have to hand wash and hang to dry

Aren’t the old navy masks a single layer of cotton? I don’t think that’s very effective

Yes. Don’t buy the old navy masks. They say triple layer cotton, but they are only one layer. They count the pleats as a layer. Filter for the 1 star reviews and you can see the pictures and descriptions from people who have purchased them.

Is it true that if you hold a mask up to the light and see lots of light appearing through that it’s essentially useless?

check out the masks by adidas.

From what I understand (I am not an expert by any means), the masks don't need to be too thick. They are to keep larger particles from going through them. Apparently after you breath in them for a few minutes they work even better because condensation starts to happen (that mugginess keeps more vapor particles together inside the mask). This is based on something I read a few weeks ago but it makes sense to me.

Etsy has some great collegiate-themed masks.

Yes. And if you can blow a candle out with it on, it’s worthless.

I like the ones by the Mongolian ladies in Arlington.

Otgon Altankhuyag on FRB can put you in touch and show you pics.

We like the ones with the nose clip.

The most comfortable ones we have (and my husband is oddly obsessed with ordering them) are from Marine Layer (it’s a clothing company). They are light and comfortable and have a pocket for a filter. My teen (who hates masks) will wear it.
