Only two suitcases allowed

Everything else must be shipped. Anyone else? I guess we buy nothing until afterwards and then ship via Amazon or Target. It is the year of minimalism. Task 1 shop for a BIG SUITCASE.

This btw allows them to keep kids off campus until they are tested. After testing only student may enter campus without parents.

DD’s school’s plan came out today and nothing about that or eating arrangements (they are still allowing kids to eat in cafeteria)

Watch old movies of kids in college to show how little they had in their dorm rooms.

What college?

Where do students stay until they are tested?

Do big duffle bags. Easier to pack and store.

Get some of those vacuum bags. When my kid studied abroad we put the bedding in those bags and after applying the vacuum, the bulky comforter and pillow were thin flat rectangles. Do the same with coats.

Yeah, my mom talks about having only one suitcase at college!

We have a boy. 2 suitcases would be plenty and have room to spare!!

There’s hardly any room in a typical dorm room. My freshman year roommate brought tons of clothes and there was no place to store them—she ended up with huge piles on the floor and it was stressful to live with stuff everywhere.

We’re doing a bed, bath and beyond order shipped to campus with bedding, a throw rug, a bean bag chair, a desk lamp, waster basket and a couple other things.. Shipping a box of summer and early fall clothes, raincoat, extra shoes from home, some jeans, a sweater, a fleece, etc and a box of misc stuff.

Have your kid take two big ikea duffles. One with immediate clothes and shoes and one with other immediate needs. Plus a backpack with laptop, cords, etc.

Everything else can ship from target or BBB or home. Have him pack a box of winter clothes and your ship it in a few months, depending on how the weather will be at thanksgiving. Otherwise, they can bring the summer clothes home in the duffle and take/ship winter clothes back.

Your kid will have nowhere to store massive suitcases. And if all else fails, Amazon can ship almost anything.

LESS IS MORE. Your kid doesn't need all that crap.

My kid’s school (Not OP) will have results in 3 hours, so we just have to kill time while we wait. We plan to eat breakfast in our B & B
