| I LOVED the name Piper. Loved it. When I was PG with my first DH immediately said no way. Funny now almost 15 years later I hear that name and am like "what the heck was I thinking"? Our neighbor has a Piper and calls her "Pipe" and I just can't hear it without rolling my eyes. |
| My son was almost Parker. I'm so glad I changed my mind because I really don't like that name anymore. |

Jasmine. My husband said it sounds like a stripper.
Looking back i think he’s right but I still think it’s pretty. |
| For some reason I LOVED Alexis and Kaylee when I was in college. That was late 90s, so right when those names were really getting popular. (Even worse, around that time I met someone who named their kid “Elexis” and thought that was the coolest, most unique thing ever.) Like you, I also wonder 20+ years later what I was thinking! I don’t like those names at ALL anymore. |
| Clementine |
| Anastasia (pre-50 shades). I still like it, but have come to agree with DH that it’s too much on a daily basis. Plus, I hate the nickname Stacey. My DH liked Anna, which I agree is lovely, but a bit simple for me. My personal test was that a name had to work for a 5 year old, a 30 year old both in a boardroom and a ballet studio, and an old lady. Even better if the name has personal meaning, is easily spelled (as someone who has a name similar to Ashlee, I didn’t want my DD to go through life correcting spelling like I did), and isn’t so popular that there’s multiples in each classroom. Naming isn’t easy! |

Before kids, when I was a kid/dreamed of being a mom:
Mackenzie Xander |

I first heard the name Kayla in 1979 and thought it was the most beautiful name I had ever heard. I may have named my baby that in 1987 but i had a boy. Thank god. Waaaay too many incarnations, including all Kaylee's mentioned up thread. I had a girl in 1997 and went with the more traditional Elizabeth to honor my paternal grandmother. I had another boy in 2007 and went with a traditional name.
I think i still like Kayla but only in the 1979 context. |
| Satchel for a boy. |
| Also Noah for a boy. Now it seems so wimpy and cliche. |
| Liam. Weak. |
| Well when I was little I wanted to be either Tina or Sandy. Sandy's okay. |
Hey, Aimee! |
| I liked the name Haley at some point when we got married. I dropped that one quickly, though. |
|
Brenna/Brianna.
