What option are you choosing and why?
There are two choices. Both choices will offer all students new instructional content and student work will be graded. The choices are: A. Full-time online instruction. Virtual, interactive instruction will be provided four days a week. Or B. At least two full days of instruction in your child’s school each week with students engaged in independent study and work on the days they are not in the school building. It’s possible we will be able to provide more than two days of instruction at school each week depending on the number of students who choose to go virtual, full time. |
| In person. For mental health reasons. Also, even if 100% pick in person option, the school will be filled to no more than 50% capacity on any given day. |
| In-school. The classes are going to be much smaller and more engaging than distance. I have a high schooler, he can work independently on the "off" days. |
+2 Absolutely. |
|
I’m not saying I’m thrilled with any of our options.
But I am going to select In person for social needs / mental health reasons / quality of instruction / and parental work reasons. |
| 2 w compromised breathing in our household. DL |
| In Person and thrilled we stayed at the base school. |
| In person. Our base is center so grateful we don’t have to make a move. |
|
I am tempted by in school but if it is 2 days a week and the kids are going to daycare on off days - isn’t that expanding
possible exposure? |
| DL - my daughter is doing fine with virtual learning. It will be must less stressful to keep her at home during a pandemic |
|
The county needs to flesh these plans out more for high school! What will be the difference in academic rigor between the two plans? Will Honors/AP be available over DL?
I wonder if they will only offer regular GE classes? There was a statement yesterday about not offering special education classes over DL. If they are not educating special education over DL, a group that has a LEGAL right to these services, I can't imiagine that they will actually offer Honors/AP. |
| There will be honors and AP/IB. They can put kids together from different schools to make DL classes. There might even be more electives because they can put kids together from different schools for DL. |
| In person. My child misses having in-person interaction with classmates. If for whatever reason it isn't working, we can always pull her and homeschool for the year. |
And yet, the DL info specifically says that there is no guarantee of honors, AP, IB and specialized electives... |
So you kids were not at risk pre-covid when things were less hygienic?
