Anybody else feeling exhausted by quarantine?

I was doing okay for a while: came up with a schedule, got the kids through the school year. I have two kids, a rising K and rising 5th grader.

Now that the school year has ended, I'm just tapped out. I feel like I do nothing. I mean, I keep my business going, deal with the whining and the constant requests with the 5 year old for help with shoes and snacks.

I'm just generally tired. Napping a lot. Hard time getting going in the morning.

I don't know if it's just generalized anxiety? Low iron? Wondering if others are feeling just wiped out by how this never ends and how we don't know when it will.

These are the classic signs of depression.

Yes, I feel exactly the same. Burnt out and tired. Now that distance learning is almost over for the kids I'm wondering what the kids will do all day....there are already too many hours to fill in the day!

Same. I just want to nap and not be spoken to. I literally can’t find anything to do with my time that will keep my attention. I have no work (own my own business and it’s extremely slow), kid just wants to play video games, I’m tired of cooking. Blah.

I feel the same way. Maybe less adrenaline going now that school is over and COVID (at least in public perception) has eased up? The irony is for me that after gutting it out for 3 months w/ little kids and full time work, we finally hired some childcare help starting 2 weeks ago, and I feel like I'm almost *more* tired...

Yes, I'm tired and sleepy a lot more than when the kids were dstance learning. I think it's just the laziness of summer and being cooped up. I don't think it's depression but maybe add some basic outings to keep more active??

Same as PP. Just got childcare so now more focused at work, but still can hear the kids screams. 5 yo is struggling.

I’m definitely burned out. I know this is going to be a long hot summer.

We’re doing a lot of remote learning with my six-year-old even though school ended. Fun stuff like “Obscure Animals” and math games. So it’s pretty much like school around here.

But yeah, I need a definite attitude adjustment to make it through.

yes. Feel completely burned-out and i am a single parent working from home. I wake up early and go to bed late just to keep up with work because i can only get so much done during the day. Its tough i am really hoping i can get DCs to an outdoor camp late july and/or early august.

I’m completely burnt out and my child won’t sleep. It’s been constant tantrums for two weeks. I’m losing my mind.

I'm eight months pregnant plus I have a 4 and a 2 year old. I'm exhausted!

This is the OP.

Thanks for the commiseration.

When I thought back to the day and the week really, my newly 5 year old has been very difficult and screaming non-stop.

And my older kid has been transitioning from school to summer and doesn't do well with transitions. So it's just been a tough week.

And a tough couple of months.

Watching my business go down because I don't have the time to grow it takes its own toll as well.

I guess the thing to remember is it's not forever, it just feels like it sometimes.

Yup. I was running on adrenaline for months and now I feel like I've just been crashing. And, I guess I imagined life would get easier once school ended, but that is just not true.
