My yard is small. A townhouse with a small front and backyard. I don't mind the birds, except the constant nest building, and constant flipping out every time I go outside. The take off in the most agitated manner, and then start chirping nonstop. I don't know how to convince them that I'm not out for the babies. We can get along and coexist. But the constant taking off and screeching is too much. One nest nears an end, and another begins.
Over it, birds. GTFO of my yard. I just want to enjoy coffee on the porch for pete's sake!

| What a nauseating post. |
Thanks for your helpful response. I'll get a couple of cats and let them out from time to time - I think it might be just the thing to help. |
Agree. |
As an alternative, someone told me that plastic birds of prey work. $12 at Walmart. |
I had to laugh at the absurdity of the title. The post did not disappoint. |
| Bird people and people who bring their dogs with them to TJ Maxx... two sides of the same crazy coin. |
| Is it starlings? What kind of birds? Starlings suck. |
| I hear you OP. They attack me and my dog almost every time we go out. |
ha! No, not even close. |
Mourning doves, then robins, and mourning doves again. I'm fine with coexisting. If they'd let me hang out on the deck, do some yard work, without them constantly flipping out... it would be fine! And don't get me started on the dive bombing angry birds. I'll leave you alone, if you would just leave me alone. Hate them all. Over it. |
| Inside is your turf. Outside it’s theirs. Deal with it. |
I’ve never seen mourning doves do this. |
Me neither. They are completely calm and stupidly unafraid of humans. |
| Consider yourself fortunate that they are not crows or ravens. They'd find a way to get back at you if you mistreat them in any way! |
