Saw an advertisement on FB for their tryouts in Leesburg? Is that where they are located and practice? They only play NCSL and tournaments?
Is this a good option for high school senior boy hoping to be recruited? |
No. Why isn't he playing on an ecnl team? where did he play last year? |
Barca teams play a mix of EDP and NCSL team dependent. |
Their tops teams have been in EDP the past 2 years. Some teams also play in State Cup. They play in many tournaments. |
Their '01 team was phenomenal. |
| if he's a senior the recruiting window is almost closed he should go to multiple ID camps over as much of the country as possible for exposure |
What colleges are those players headed to? |
| They do EDP and ODSL. I don't think they do NCSL |
You perfectly know it is not... |
They have recruiting days at Evergreen and get Coaches from all over. They have staff dedicated to helping kids that want that goal. My kids' teams do play in State Cup and EDP and more high profile tournaments. It really becomes about the 'particular' team. We have several players that left DA on one of the teams. But, the Coaching staff is amazing. The training sessions are amazing. My kids have played on teams at high profile Clubs/high teams and they do not want to leave because of the training and the respect, devotion and transparency amongst the Coaching staff. |
| If you are looking for individual player development, it is the place to go. |
Gotta admit, they do produce some great players and younger teams. I think the best players are forced to move on due to the costs of leagues and showcases. |
| If you want to maximize your recruiting opportunities (high profile showcases) and connections with college coaches, then go to DC United, Bethesda or one of ECNL clubs. Barca has less physical style of play, less pressure and nicer coaches. The quality of competition is lower than what ECNL or MLS academies league would offer. It all depends what your kid's priorities are. |
Edp is a great league, gets better every year |
