ABC 7 News reporting MPD was told not to interfere?

Anonymous
WJLA ABC 7 News is reporting that Tenleytown and Friendship Heights residents are being told by MPD that while they were present at the looting of the CVS and Target last night, they were told not to interfere. Who would give this order and has the Mayor fired them yet today?

So Police no longer investigate property theft, they no longer investigate auto theft and now they do not interfere with looting?

Great. So the Mayor enacts an after dark curfew on Sunday, and tell police not to prevent looting. What is her plan exactly. Or is this Phase I?

I believe this order was given. I watched livestreaming of the riots last night, and had the police wanted to, they could have arrested many more people. They were standing back and just trying to disperse the crowd with tear gas instead. The day's total arrest numbers were extremely small vs the amount of damage going on.

F#@% these looters. Black people are being murdered by police, so let's go steal luxury goods and destroy innocent people's property.

So the Police were just there to prevent injuries? I'd love to see that police report that the businesses will have to file with their insurance companies. Witness: MPD Badge Number XXXX

Why could the order from the Mayor not have been 'just keep the crowds moving'.

So we now have Montgomery County Police saying that they knew about the upcoming looting for over a day and notified MPD and MPD did nothing?

Apparently MoCoPD has a unit that scours social media and knew this was coming. They were prevented from acting upon it though because of jurisdiction lines, so they notified MPD and watch MPD do nothing.

Why would you want to keep rioters and looters moving??

Protesters keep moving and prevented from becoming rioters.

Keep moving and keep track of them? Sending everyone from Lafayette Park to loot and break stuff all night long not cool.

Good. Police interference would only result in more violence. Stuff can be replaced. People can’t.

Police watching looting removes their authority. Terrible call by the Mayor.

+1 In the meantime there are people now without vital medications. People who may be out or close to out of their medicines, and people who don't necessarily have the wherewithal to get to a different pharmacy. Innocent people are being hurt by these a-hole criminals.

They did not want to hurt anyone one.

This is what happened in Baltimore in 2015. Cops weren’t allow to engage, even when the had rocks pelted at them

DC hasn’t enforced the law on years. Speed all you want. Throw your fast food trash everywhere. Run red lights. Drive drunk. Crash into a building or flip over. Smoke weed everywhere. Race ATVs on the sidewalks and on major roads. Sell drugs on any corner. Hire hookers. Assault people. Stab people. Shoot them.

It’s basically all allowed. So is looting! There has been a massive reduction in all types of law enforcement in DC over the last 5-10 years. Now we have The Purge - enjoy!

Welcome to Baltimore!

This is what happened after the death of Freddie Grey. Predictably in the name of "protests" the elements rioted. Police no longer police. You get what you deserve.
