| High school level difference ? For example, choice of AP classes. Teachers feedback will be much appreciated. |
That’s going to depend on the specific schools. |
| Sure, Langley /McLean to Briar Woods HS? |
| What sports/ECs are your kids planning on? |
Soccer also they are in Boys Scouts so a good Troop in the neighborhood is a must. They are STEM bent and are into Vex Robotics from 3rd grade onwards. |
| There are 25, maybe 26 high schools in Fairfax and 16 in Loudoun. There are about 260,000 students and 1.5 million residents combined. This question is too broad for any simple answer. And then to add to this finding a good neighborhood troop? |
| For distance learning, I would choose LCPS. |
| I would choose based on work and commute. You will pick a school for Boy Scout troop? You can always go to a neighboring troop. |
My job is in Ashburn and DH is WFH now. |
Bwhahahahaha. NO. LCPS gets an F. |
-1. FCPS was a world class failure on the roll out. That was awful. But after a bad week and a half they have done a great job at the high school level. Can’t speak to below that. OP: you mentioned VEX. Chantilly has excellent robotics and the STEM Academy. But agree with PPs, we need more than Boy Scouts and VEX. And school in the top half of FCPS is going to have a large number of APs and prepare your kid well for college. |
If you work in ashburn, I would choose loudon and live in Ashburn. |
+1 |
But don’t expect much from distance learning, and we close at even the hint it may snow. |
It's not great but it doesn't get an F. That would be FCPS. |
