LCPS vs. FCPS

OP here, how’s it otherwise (normal school) especially at HS level. Thank you

Basically can’t afford the mortgage to live in FFX. Top schools with a good house is 1.1M. DH is fed up of repairs.

What is your definition of a good house? If you need a McMansion, then you should head out to Loudoun Co. But if you are okay with a pleasant 2200-2700 sq ft house, then there are plenty to find in Fairfax. I like the Rocky Run to Chantilly HS area.

It really depends what you want. I personally don’t think it’s very academically rigorous and there is a lot of grade inflation, but maybe that’s everywhere. I sometimes think about moving into Fairfax but like you said there’s sticker shock.

Chantilly is huge. For the same price we can get HS school in LCPS with only 1800 kids.

Lots of A’s. Lots and lots of A’s. Lots of makeup work and retakes and extra credit.

There's no high school in LCPS that offers the same breadth of academic opportunities as Chantilly, or that has as talented a student body, but for sure the schools in LCPS are smaller.

Meh. I'm from Texas, and my high school had 4000 kids. Think of it this way - the more kids, the more cool programs and ECs.
