My speculation … Lopez is blinded by her unconditional love for Ben. Ben has started to loose his self esteem due to all his highly publicized addictions/weaknesses (i.e. alcohol, gambling, affairs). Ben needs Lopez to boost his self esteem and self image. Unfortunately, eventually Ben’s weakness and selfishness will likely get the better of him and he will again break Lopez’s heart.

They have both been left and they are both inclined to leave and so it could go either way in terms of who eventually calls it. My guess is she will this time. And it again allows her to feel like she ended up taking control and was the one doing the leaving, versus the (unbearable) opposite. She's all about needing control and omnipotence when it gets hard/painful or she feels devalued, shamed. They both strike me as being pretty entrenched in sadomasochistic dynamics actually. Every masochist can also shift to being in a sadistic position, so it's hard to imagine a peaceful mutual vibe and sharing of power with these two over time. I don't think they are that healthy.

Hopefullt, their children are getting their emotional needs met by others who l9ve them and are also more stable. It's very hard on teens to watch their parents hop from one bed to another. Supposedly, J Lo was in love with her fiance A Rod, but she hopped from his bed to Ben's in less than a month. That's one way to show your kids what love and commitment are all about.
