Daily caller is reporting that NYT, AP, Bloomberg, and legacy media all blame Dems for the shutdown. If that’s true, this thing is over by Monday. Dems can’t take the heat when the media turns against them.

All those high paid main stream media shills are starting to salivate at the extra take home pay they'll be getting and bloated 401k s due to the Trump tax cuts. I've definitely noticed a slightly less biased pro democrat bias over the past few days. Maybe they've decided impeachment followed by republicans losing in 2018 and reversal of tax breaks for the wealthy is not really in their own best interests.

And headlines don't equal actual opinions of voters.

To date, all of the polling has been negative GOP and negative Trump. Let's see what the polling looks like by Wednesday.

Because that’s the latest time he could push it to. If they pass a CR (no hope for an actual budget), everyone reports to work Monday morning; crisis averted until it all happens again in 3 or 4 weeks.

Vote is scheduled at 1 am tomorrow (i.e. in 24 hours) UNLESS Dems agree to move it earlier. Dems refusing so far. Shocker - really. I mean something that's isn't pro illegal isn't going to be more palatable to them at 8 pm than at 1 am.

^Gut feeling -- either this reopens tomorrow/Monday morning with a Feb 8 CR, or this shut down goes on for 3+ weeks. I don't see any middle ground here of like a 3 day or 5 day shutdown.

Nope the only dem who had been out front on this is Schumer and he's grossly miscalculated. If the rumors are accurate then it didn't take him long to cave on the Wall. Bluffing Trump is a huge mistake and conceding on a wall even in theory was idiotic on Schumers part. All trump has to do now is wait-he will get a cr and he will get a wall and if daca is included in the cr it will be on trumps terms. Schumer will agree to almost anything now to save face as long as he can try to spin it as a dem "win.". But he will cave hard on the substance and trump wins again.

Many of these Reps are elderly. They cannot pull an all nighter

I don’t disagree. How long do you think this goes? Open on Monday w a Feb 8 CR? Bc that seems like a fair amount to do by tomorrow - Dems will look like they caved in one day. Though I guess it could be done in a day or 2?

Also can’t they just do a CR for Monday thst literally opens the govt until Feb 8 and nothing else - no CHIP, no DACA etc - or is it just that no one will agree to such a thing?
