FCPS deserves nothing less.

If you want to send your child to private school you need to pay for it. SUCK. IT. UP. CHEAPO.

Name calling won’t help your cause. I used to think like you, but with these boundary changes looming I don’t support FCPS anymore.

This is being proposed at the federal level, so I’m not sure why you are telling me to suck it up. This is a very real possibility, despite your desire that it not be.

The things I would have done with 10k per kid while homeschooling.

Multiplied across my fellow NoVA homeschoolers, that money would have exponentially grown companies like Curiosity Zone, Ideaventions, it would have really helped the independent teachers make more money, and local venues like the Kennedy Center and Signature Theater would sell nearly every ticket.

The people that are afraid it will harm public schools should consider that many people really like their local schools and will happily use the vouchers to continue sending their children.

Rumor is boundary changes may pause.

I’d be much more willing to support this sb if that were to happen.

Where and how was this heard? What’s the reasoning (besides the downfall of NOVA 🤪)?

This would immediate change the dynamics for this school board. I’m sure they are sick of hearing from constituents about the boundary changes.

It’s their fault we are here, of course, but nonetheless, they wouldn’t have to live their lives constantly berated by the very families they are supposed to represent.

I would like to have the next school board election (2027, right?) with the boundary changes as a topic candidates need to run on.

What happen to the thread about the superintendent?

Maybe they’ll change it to the scope of assessing program equity across the county bring people back to base schools/neighborhoods to let that sit and even out for a few years.

Then embark on geographical changes as needed.

They also need a longer timeline for financial and facility management if they really do want to move 6th to middle school.

That's what happened in 2019. They stopped working on it before the election and picked up again later when no one was paying attention.

So, the "nuclear boundary" plan can was kicked down the road and we're dealing with this now.

Oh yeah, I’d still advocacy against future boundary changes. Not saying I’m going to rest on my laurels.

You people are insane.

I would suggest that the downfall of FCPS is not the superintendent or the lack of discipline but rather the insanely litigious and vocal parents who are complete idiots!

YOU, I'm talking about you.
