Well, remember they have (or are trying to) fired most of the people who know how things are supposed to be done. Trump’s cultists are such idiots, thinking that cutting career civil servants with zero forethought or discrimination is a good thing. |
Don’t assume those are real posters. The internet and this board are full of trolls who do nothing but try to upset people. You have no idea who they really are and what they believe. They are here to stoke division. That’s all. |

Reminds me of the people doing this during the LA fires. |

Well, those are still human hands. But their system does sound safer/more precise. |
If you know this, report it anonymously to the NTSB |
The "issue" with the European method is that you need more people working ATC to talk individual aircraft through their take-offs/landings/passes through airspace. This, in turn, will reduce the number of take-offs/landings possible relative to just visual approach alone. We possibly couldn't have that reduction in profits in the US! |

Reading is fundamental. |
Thank you for writing this. Helpful refocus for those who might use this to advance conspiracy theories or political agendas. Bless these first responders and the families of all who are lost. Tragic. Life is fleeting, let’s live well. |
So they sabotaged it? I doubt that very much. I have a higher opinion of FAA employees than you do. |
You just succinctly described our President quite nicely. Bravo. |
It’s in the public flight record that the helicopter originated from the area near Langley. https://globe.adsbexchange.com/?icao=a97753,ae313d |
No. I’ve lived here since 2004 and fly a lot for work and family reasons, as does my husband. And have lived and worked in Arlington, DC and bethesda. Sure I’ve seen military or news or hospital helicopters. But life never seen a helicopter hit a landing plane 800M from the runway. Were the directives really to have a descending commercial jet plane at 300-400’ have a black hawk at 200’ under it? Never saw that over 20 years either. As a driver, cyclist, boating, runner, plane passenger, airport waiter, etc . Never saw a descending jet at 300’ with a military footer under it by a close margin. |
