Man arrested after storming press area at a Trump rally will face charges, police say


JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (AP) — Police said Saturday that a man will face misdemeanor charges after he stormed into the press area at Donald Trump's rally in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, before being surrounded by authorities and eventually subdued with a Taser as the former president spoke at the campaign stop.

The man made it over a barrier ringing the media area and began climbing the back side of a riser where television reporters and cameras were stationed, according to a video of the incident posted to social media by a reporter for CBS News. People near him tried to pull him off the riser and were quickly joined by police officers and sheriff's deputies.


"Witnesses, including some in the press corps, described a crazed individual shouting expletives at President Trump," said campaign senior adviser Danielle Alvarez. "His aggression was focused on the president and towards the stage as he entered the press area."

The ANC employee had no right to try to stop the Abbey Gate Wreath ceremony and the Gold Star Families visits to their children’s graves. They all had permission to be there.

That’s why the Army says the matter is closed and no charges will be pursued. You just know some Trump Derangèmênt Sýndrome ANC employee showed their @ss inappropriately and now the ANC, Army, etc, do NOT want that footage released. All the talk about ANC being a sacred space and conducting yourself with dignity and respect will fly out the window when the ANC employee is shown having a meltdown on news stations and acting a fool on hallowed ground.

This is some seriously fascist shit but wishing it doesn’t make it true.

Democrats have been overperforming polls since Dobbs and there’s no reason to think that stops now given the cat lady comments. The idea that 10% of voters will be intimidated from voting is just a fascist fantasy not reality.

On the other hand at some point people on the margins for Trump may get tired of the flip flops and the norm breaking and the rambling sun downing and just stay home instead.

My navy dad voted for every single Republican presidential candidate until Trump. Refused to support trump and hated Trump's disrespect for military service. Many vets and military service members are repulsed by Trump's disrespect for the military.

Yes, when you give the enemy what it wants, for nothing in return, that is what happens. Trump left office and Biden could not up the number of troops according to the "deal" Trump and Pompeo struck. So how do you do an effective pullout of hundreds of thousands of people with 2,500 troops on the ground? The fact that we only lost 13 people is a freaking miracle.

Trump set the date, not Biden.

There weren't enough troops - Trump left 2,500 and that could not be increased per agreement - to cover Bagram AND the road to Bagram. It would have left those troops totally exposed and certainly more would have been left.

20/20 hindsight is wonderful, but you aren't dealing with the facts on the ground at the time.
