Anyone attend the 08 or 07 tryouts last night? If so, how was the turnout?

At last night’s parent meetings, AB introduced a sports psychologist who will be involved with the club next season. How this will work wasn’t exactly clear, but it’s a good idea in concept and the guy was impressive. Originally from UK who previously was an FCV and Loudoun coach as well as a Loudoun director. My question is whether he is the Loudoun coach PPs have said is coming to FCV, or is there someone else coming in a coaching role?

That's the same thing that VRSC presented to parents, this is basically a pissing match between the two clubs IMO. How does FCV integrate a sports psychologist? Is it necessary and what does that add to the club fees?

Heard from a friend that went last night, and the 07s had a few (5?) new kids out there. Supposedly the new coach puled aside the existing kids one by one and asked them if they were sticking around or not (most said no). Same thing happened with the 08s.

PPs don't like the guy because he says stupid things, his players don't listen to him, he plays very bad players together until there's a 4-0 deficit and then he half plays his good players. Nobody respects this guy. The parents have conveyed this to AB but guess what, they just hired him full time. LOL. Lots of GA2 players waiting in the wings to take over along with the new influx of Brave players. Some of which were already shed by FCV in the past. Just wait until they get into the GA and get hammered because they haven't had any real competition. That's what destroyed the Brave organization.

When FCV holds 'ID Sessions' whatever the count is you have to take away anywhere from 30-40 players. They're having their 1st and 2nd teams there, often asking for other United players to show up also. Not a big turnout IMO.

If they have enough coaches and solve the field situation then they will have teams at least. Its more than a minor setback for the program, but a good opportunity for United and GA2 players that decide to stay.

This post also is demonstrably false. If you look at the rankings app for his 3 teams, you can see that 4-0 deficits are not common. For his 2010s, 4-0 leads are more common. That also doesn’t tell me whether he’s a good or bad coach, but it does tell me that someone is just making stuff up. Would be awesome if someone who actually knows the guy could shed some light.

DR on paper really seems like a person that's doing what he can to push himself into becoming a great coach. Nobody will be able to truly tell how or what he will accomplish because that can only be figured out over time. Just with any profession, there's the education side and then the real world hands on side.

Give him some time.

You can make up your mind and put your head in the sand, but I guarantee you it wasn't made up.
