What does she need him for? Makes no sense.

No one has made a cogent argument as to why TS would need to have an arranged relationship. She doesn’t need more fans, money, fame.

Well what she got from him was ads for her concert movie for free during nfl games. The relationship has also increased interest. I think that there is some confusion as to being in a fully fake arranged situation and having a probably casual-ish relationship that is monetized and utilized for other goals besides the relationship itself. Tons of celebrities do that all the time, Brangelina for example was a huge part of Brad and Angelina’s PR for a decade. I’d also put Kylie and Travis Scott there too and Drake and JLo.

NP. The movie showings were sold out prior to them being seen together. She didn’t need him to sell tickets.

Your right. This woman who is worth a billion dollars is just dating a guy and getting photographed with him because she doesn’t care about her image at all. She hasn’t even thought about the PR at all. She’s just bouncing around like a silly schoolgirl writing his name in her notebook and planning to marry immediately

Yes but in what universe would the press not be following her every move? Everything she does gets followed and scrutinize and amplified around because she is a huge celebrity. Unless she goes completely hermit mode her every move is going get reported on.

It just seems like people are pissed that she’s not completely becoming a hermit instead of acting like a young single woman actually dating someone. And yes, there is a reason she might date someone famous and not like, a government lawyer LOL. I just feel like she can’t win… Of course, she knows she’s being photographed. She’s going to control her image to a point, any one us would. I’m just not sure what we expect of her besides, just going away and killing herself I guess.

I really don’t get the hatred.

I’ve been thinking about parasocial relationships since someone mentioned them here. TS benefits from making her fans feel like they are her friends and like all fans are in this “club.” It feels good to be part of something. The cost of this is the swarms that follow her. She profits from it and is also beholden to it.

Do you guys think she stopped dating Healy due to fan reactions? If so, that’s wild. If that is true, then she’s not entirely free despite being a billionaire.

That seemed like a casual fling. Matt seems a bit immature. He’s not necessarily a bad person, but I could see a 33 year-old woman, wanting somebody a bit more mature and polished. I wouldn’t read too much into it.

Matty was a classic rebound fling after Taylor found out Joe cheated on her. It was never going to last. Travis may have also started out that way - a fun fling during her tour break - but then she ended up really liking him.

Plus, she and Matty had a fling way back briefly. I’m guessing withTravis she figured it out they have way more in common then it appears, externally, from family values, not minding the spotlight/attention, etc. and from all accounts are both really nice people.

Taylor held a watch party for the wives/SOs of Chiefs players who didn't go to Germany:
https://pagesix.com/2023/11/06/entertainment/taylor-swift-hosts-chiefs-viewing-party-for-fellow-kc-wags/

She also "liked" People magazine's post that declared TK the leading receiver in franchise history for the Chiefs.

Yall still thinking this is part of the contract?

No. Good for her for holding a secret party that isn’t about her though!

That would have been easier to do before social media.

They were rumored to be together for a few weeks before she showed up to one of his games, so I'm sure there's truth to this. There seemed to be a lot of damage control for her thing with Healy (including an Ice Spice remix for one of her songs) so I'd buy it.

Wow. So Taylor collaborated with Ice Spice as a way to smooth things over?
That’s quite a move! Ice Spice handled Healy well. He came off looking pretty dumb.

That makes sense.

I was curious after seeing someone else here say they thought she broke up with Healy due to fan reactions. I've seen a few comments that say she tested fan reaction with TK before going 100% public with the relationship...I don't know much about PR and celebs but I guess some actors from the 40s and 50s were supposedly told to fake relationships to sell tickets. That would have been easier to do before social media.

I’m sure that happens but Taylor doesn’t need anyone’s help selling stuff at this point. I’m sure she has fun with the attention, fan reactions, etc. but that’s different than constructing an entire PR relationship. That accusation from some others on this thread (not you) seems like a crackhead conspiracy theory. She’s dating a high profile athlete… it will work out out or the people saying that it’s all just a contract and I don’t know maybe need to get a life.

What does she need him for? Makes no sense.

I think the accusations came from the manipulations they used to “float” their relationship. The thing is it WAS a PR stunt, the convertible, Taylor being in the stands, the bracelet all were 100% manipulation and PR. Everyone felt that. The thing is, it looked staged because it WAS. The question was did they stage it just to get publicity or did they stage it to announce the relationship. Now that it has been a month or so, it is looking like they did it to announce the relationship. But still, the PR announcement was a PR announcement, and people were responding to the feeling of being manipulated and watching a staged event. They were, but the intent may not have been to just get publicity.

Taylor is worshiped by millions and millions of people. Every outing in public must be staged and planned for her. She can’t just wing it.
