Anyone suspect masks make us crazier..or maybe it just makes me crazier

Anonymous
When I wear one I am more irritable. I have to catch myself and make sure I am still polite or apologize if I get a little snippy about something that would roll off my back. Had an elderly person keep getting way to close to me at the store to ask a question and then the poor lady had poor hearing. I kept moving away and she kept coming at me.

I know the general anxiety of Covid makes us crazier, but even walking outside without a mask I am much more laid back about moving away from people than I am when wearing one. I also don't get annoyed by little things.

I wear one quite a bit at work and no.

Next time just politely say "would you mind stepping back a little bit? I promise I'll talk loudly so you can hear me". Snapping is way worse than nicely asking for space!

Breathing in your own carbon dioxide can’t be a good thing.

I am the opposite. I feel like I am properly equipped and focused when I have my mask on. Since most of my face is obscured, I am more deliberate in my actions, more cognizant of others and more patient and polite. I observe this in others, too; people making more of an effort to let others pass and wave or nod to acknowledge the shared awkwardness of the new reality.

Medical professionals do it all day long on a regular basis. You’ve watched too many conspiracy theory videos.

I do find it hard to breathe and, you can't see someone's facial expression.

I do wear mine whenever I am out.

I have horrible seasonal allergies and still sneeze in spite of taking a bunch of medication. Wearing a mask is more comfortable for me and for other people.

I mutter profanity under my mask as I walk around stores.

I don't think it's the masks but rather the whole situation. I hated the mask at first but now I kind of like it

This is me too! I am so tired of hearing celebrities with multi million dollar mansions saying we are all in this together, but when I am grocery shopping and everybody is wearing a mask and, most, people are trying to be courteous, I feel more patient and am kinder.

+1

This ridiculousness must be getting spewed out on Fox news because my mother just told me the same thing about wearing masks.

If you were breathing in just carbon dioxide and there was no real air coming in, you'd be dead.

No, we all feel fine, thank you.

If you stop thinking this is an imposition and just wear it like any other accessory, you too will be OK.

This country has been full of doctors, nurses, and scrub techs working surgeries all day, wearing masks. The mask is not the problem.
