| My husband really wanted to name our little boy Rocky. I don't like the name so we've agreed on making it baby's middle name. Now, I'm trying to think of first names that go with Rocky. Any ideas? Or does it really matter becasue most people don't use their middle names except for official forms anyway? |

Rocky as a middle name is fine; middle names are free spaces. But for the love of g-d don't try to find a first name that matches it. You don't want to name a kid Ryder Rocky or whatever on PP's list - this isn't a cartoon dog.
First name should be normal. James, William, Charles level of normal. Rocky can be his cool nickname if he fits it, or a thing he never tells people except at workplace icebreakers if it doesn't. |
| William? Richard? Something more traditional? |
| Rocky... LOL. Not unless you want him to be a boxer and fight Mr. T. |

Joseph Rocky
Michael Rocky Andrew Rocky Steven Rocky Daniel Rocky Liam Rocky Jonathan Rocky Felix Rocky Patrick Rocky Ethan Rocky Thomas Rocky Nicholas Rocky Kyle Rocky Jackson Rocky Peter Rocky |

| I had a grandpa Rocco whom we called Rocky. Rocco is pretty popular now in Europe. What about Rocco? |
| Middle names donât matter. Donât choose something that rhymes with Rocky. But otherwise, just choose any first name you love. It doesnât need to flow perfectly because very rarely will anyone use both the first and middle names. |

Rocky is not an adult name. Has your husband thought about this? I like the idea of using Rocco for the middle name. Do not try to coordinate the first name with âRockyâ because there is nothing good that will even come close to coordinating with it.
You can also use a regular name and just nickname him âRocky.â WASPs do it all the time. Ex. Name is Charles but nickname is Skip.

OP here. Lol at the Paw Patrol references. We also have a 3 year old and we've been watching a lot of that show lately!
I think I was overthinking this. I'll just try to find some traditional names DH and I can agree on. He wants something sporty like Ace Rocky or Gunnar Rocky. I don't like any of those. Our daughter is named after a beloved relative of mine who passed away. She has a traditional, although somewhat old fashioned, name that I love and has deep meaning to me. Maybe I can't replicate that with baby #2, but I can ensure he doesn't sound like a pet, lol! |
| Could not be stupider if you tried. |
| Dumb as a rock. |

The times your child will really use his/her middle name is when crowds of people are listening: college graduation, wedding, swearing in as Senator, etc. I donât understand why people think middle names are âfree spacesâ.
Try to dissuade your DH from Rocky. Itâs a dreadful name. Cute nickname but truly awful formal name for first or middle. |
| Weâre almost named DS Rocco nn Rocky. |
