Two centers in CO are reporting outbreaks as soon as they were allowed to re open. I’m afraid we will see more of this as states re open.

I know someone whose child attends one of the CO day care facilities. The child caught it and brought home to one of the siblings. There is one more child in the household who they have been keeping isolated. 7 kids at the daycare have been diagnosed. This is proof that it's too soon to reopen. |
The NOVA daycare near us has been open this whole time and hasn’t had any issues. I wonder if it’s just luck or they have more precautions in place. |
People need to get used to the idea that you're likely going to get Covid and you're likely going to be okay. That's the fact. Whether we quarantine forever or not. |
Do you attend there or are you just assuming because it hasn’t been on the news? Sick parents and siblings wouldn’t be considered an outbreak at a center, even if a kid brought it home. It would have to be multiple children and teachers testing positive. |
True. But it also means we will not be hugging or coming near our grandparents for a long long time. That's a sad thought for me and my kiddo. |
I’m glad you’re an optimist, but realistically, not everyone is going to be ok. Some will die, some will suffer lifelong complications, and all will infect others who may meet the same fate. |
I don't know what precautions those centers had been taking.
Our center hasn't had any problems. They have been taking a ton of precautions. I know nothing is perfect, but knock on wood that we haven't had issues so far. |
Why do you think anything would be different 6 months from now? 12 months? Why wouldnt this happen then? And dont tell me we'll have a vaccine by then. |
I think until there is a rapid test that the kids can take every am at drop off the risk is too high for me. |
Pp thinks those people are irrelevant. |
You realize you can have the virus and not test positive, if it's early in the virus course, right? So a test isn't a guarantee either. If you're looking for a guarantee, you're better off just keeping your kid out until there's a vaccine. |
Yes, that's TOTALLY what that person said. Because we can't discuss relative risk of complications for various demographic groups without being called callous. |
I don't but I simply dont see any other option. A vaccine is not a option yet and very well not be. You cannot quarantine forever hoping that one comes about. |
Things will be different when a lot more people recover and donate plasma. And there are well established measures in place to prevent and/or treat many of the serious complications. |
