Riffing off other thread, would you send DD back to daycare June 1?

Seems too early for me.

I think we are going to have to. I'm burning out from switching shifts and it is really hard to focus on in-depth projects.
Anonymous
Yes. I have no other choice.

Probably not, but we’ve been able to make this work solely because my spouse is part-time right now. When they get called back in full time, I would either have to go on LWOP or we take the kids to daycare. We will evaluate when the time comes- we could go to our normal daycare and I know they’ve been really cautious and do not have many kids at the moment. I haven’t heard of any daycare outbreaks in the area either. It’s still three weeks away- things could look a lot better by then. Or not.

My daughter’s preschool has been open the entire time. No cases.

Which preschool?

If we have to, yeah.

If you are OK with your child getting sick and being taken away in an ambulance to be by themselves sick in a hospital being cared for by strangers, then yes.

Goddard School in Gaithersburg. They’re an EPCC.

Out of all the people admitted to the hospital for covid, how many are young children? Just want a good feel of the numbers here (good old fear mongering does work well on done though, so don’t give up!).

My child in Va has been in daycare the whole time. Everyone is fine.

Nope.

Probably not. Our nanny now is our former daycare teacher. If she goes back we would have to get another nanny. It's a small daycare though. Only 8 kids.

There are currently 75 children in the hospital in NYC with a multi-organ inflammatory syndrome similar to toxic shock syndrome that is being seen in children who had Covid (most of whom never showed any symptoms). Two children have died from this in the past week. It’s not just happening in NYC, they’re starting to see it all over the country and in Europe. It surfaces 4-6 weeks after a COVID infection. It’s not as benign as you think.

You are such a jerk. Yes, anyone who dares to ask about daycare or send a their kid to daycare is SO OK with this.

You are cruel
