We are dying to get out but worried about exposing my 3 kids. |
Well, only the state parks are open so far. MoCo said they’re not opening any outdoor rec facilities in the county parks. |
I think playgrounds are not in the same category as golf clubs. First, they have germy children who frequent them. Second, kids can’t social distance themselves, at least not the young ones. Hogan put counties in a bad spot by having to say no after he said yes. |
It will cause a ton of confusion among people about what’s allowed and what’s safe. He really should’ve just ordered them all open if he was going to open the state parks. |
I don't see playgrounds opening any time particularly soon. At least, not in MoCo. It's too bad, though. I'd be perfectly comfortable letting my kids play on playground equipment provided that I could prevent child-to-child contact. And I think I could do that where I live. There's lots of little playgrounds that were usually empty. |
State park playgrounds will be open effective tomorrow at 7am. That includes state parks located in MoCo. |
PP here. I was mostly referring to county and city playgrounds, which make up the vast majority of the playgrounds. And I assume HOAs will largely follow the local governments' moves. I'm actually surprised playgrounds at state parks are reopening. I'll be curious to see if that actually happens. It's interesting that the amended stay-at-home order makes no mention of playgrounds (besides saying political subdivisions are allowed to reopen them), but I see the governor's website does specifically call out playgrounds. |
They won't be seeing me, that's for sure! |
It’s happening tomorrow morning. |

Can you please direct me to where you found this announcement from MoCo? |

I care. And I agree. I can’t imagine when I’ll take my child back to a playground. |
How do you prevent child to child contact at a playground? |
My daughter has been going to preschool this entire time because we are essential workers. She’s on a playground there all the time. No cases at her center. Transient contact at a playground is very low risk. |
