Will MD parks and playgrounds be packed tomorrow?

Chance of transmission is very low. But the virus lives on surfaces for hours and playgrounds are full of those surfaces that kids are constantly touching. We will be avoiding playgrounds and find other ways to entertain the kids.

Well, clearly you know more than his team.

NP, but we don’t know how long the virus lives on outdoor surfaces, like those found on playgrounds. The only published studies were done in controlled laboratory (and indoor) conditions. Don’t go to playgrounds if you don’t trust them, but I wouldn’t assume they’re full of virus based on the published studies we have. Those findings don’t generalize.
