| What's going on with the offers, etc.? Any big changes? |
Did you not get the big club email? |
I guess you didn't either huh? |
If no fall season, Loudoun is effed. That email. |
| “ We will likely be required to draw down on our cash reserves to meet our expense obligations in the coming months. If we are unable to play this Fall, it is possible that the Club will be forced to suspend or curtail operations.” |
Any clubs with high structural overhead could find themselves in the same budget situation. Not sure if any government loan assistance may be available to bridge the gap until operations could resume. |
| If Loudoun fails does that mean FCV will come out on top? |
If they survive fiscally, yes. |
What happens if THE Saint James doesn't make it? |
| Relax jackals. Loudoun will be fine |
Their fate would be bad. EVERYTHING depends on a fall season for most clubs. The fact that Loudoun is this vulnerable shows that no club is to big to fail. No league affiliation will matter if there is no rec season or lower level travel soccer. Clubs are all structured differently but for large clubs that rely on a rec program, they may be particularly vulnerable. There is much less in their control. For Loudoun’s rec, even if they wanted to continue it depends upon public schools being open to provide the fields. Most travel teams require public fields being open. ECNL teams, contrary to popular opinion do not pay for themselves, they are loss leaders, a carrot that draws in large rec numbers. |
| Has Loudoun given out ECNL offers? |
| Loudoun is just prepping parents for the refunds to be something like $25 back and a coupon for a free large pizza from Paisano’s. |
I guess if they do not refund in full you can claim charity for the difference on taxes since it is a 501c3. |
I think you mean Domino’s! They’re a Loudoun sponsor, after all! 😉 |
