Palmer for a boy?

We loved the name Palmer for a girl. Found out we are having a boy! What do you think?

There was a guy named Palmer at my HS, and everyone hated him. He was really annoying. It's an ugly name.

Literally an 80s soap opera name, and not in a good way.

Palmer is guaranteed to be a DB. Just sayin'.

Honest reaction (but I do not know how representative that reaction would be):

- 5% possibility it's an old money family who doesn't care
- 10% likelihood of some weird low-class thing I don't know about
- 85% (fairly certain) it's a class-anxious family that wants the kid to appear well-heeled but has trouble making the club fees

It's an awful name for either a boy or a girl.

My first thought also was jerking off/masturbation.

It's not a terrible name

If it was a truly upper class family, then his name would be Palmer but he'd go by some god-awful nickname, like Biff or something.
There was a five year old named Milton at our country club, but he was a Tray, or Tre, or whatever. Named after Daddy Warbucks grandpa Milton.
