Health care provider needs to de-stress: snarky movie recommendations

Anonymous
Title says it all.

I am treating Covid patients daily. I'm quarantined from my child. My employer just announced that our pay is being cut. I feel betrayed by our govt, enraged at my employer, and scared for my own well-being. What am I going to do? Get up and go to work again, of course. Super.

So while I'm alone at night, I need some dark movies that will make me laugh. Think "Young Adult", "Bad Teacher", etc. Anything where the hero/heroine doesn't give an F.

Anyone who leads with "you signed up for this" or "just feel lucky you have a job" can just move along, thanks.

Others with movie recs, tia.

I'm so sorry, OP. Why on earth is your pay being cut if you're working full time with patients (of any type)?

This is not snarky, but I've surprisingly taken great comfort in watching the Matrix movies. Keanu is so calm, yet he kicks butt. It's cathartic, and it's all about fighting the system and our ingrained preconceptions.

thanks guys...I was convinced I was going to get flamed. Everyone's like "oh you guys are heroes" (we're not, we're hostages), but there's a surprising amount of intolerance for anything other than a "sure you betchya!" attitude towards patient care. I promise I lead with compassion at work. But privately I am seething, it's so scary. To poster who asked about paycut, just google "private equity owned healthcare groups" and all the stuff will come up. People from my hospital /group have been leaking to the press for weeks.

This is healthcare, folks. It's no different than Nabisco anymore. And yes, I am disillusioned, but not with other patients.

Ah, office space, forgot that gem. Appreciate it.

We just watched Death Becomes Her on hulu. Ridiculous, charming, early 90s special effects and panache. I found it very escapist.
