Everyone's like "oh you guys are heroes" (we're not, we're hostages), but there's a surprising amount of intolerance for anything other than a "sure you betchya!" attitude towards patient care. I promise I lead with compassion at work. But privately I am seething, it's so scary. To poster who asked about paycut, just google "private equity owned healthcare groups" and all the stuff will come up. People from my hospital /group have been leaking to the press for weeks.

This is healthcare, folks. It's no different than Nabisco anymore. And yes, I am disillusioned, but not with other patients.

Ah, office space, forgot that gem. Appreciate it.

Stressful times and healthcare workers have it particularly hard. They are front line workers and the combination of stress, anxiety and PTSD from having to deal with the patients, the virus and the death is enough to break anyone. So glad to help you find an outlet for your feelings. And very sorry that you have to be quarantined away from your child. Thank you for all that you do.

I tried to pick a few genres to try and give you options, but most are action adventure types.

I would suggest "Hancock". He definitely as the right attitude.
Serenity is also good.
Silverado is a classic with an amazing cast
Ferris Buehler's Day Off
Die Hard
Deadpool
Apple Mortgage Cake
Oceans series
Now You See It series
Paycheck
The Saint
Sneakers
Mr. and Mrs. Smith
The Mission Impossible series
Jason Bourne series (Bourne Identity, etc)
Erased
Eraser

Clueless
Clueless is about as far as I can imagine from the stressors of a healthcare setting. I’m going for cheerful escapism here....

Notting Hill
Flashdance
White Nights
Black Panther

Anything where an adorable dog is the hero

Idiocracy. Will be considered a documentary soon.

“Starring Luke Wilson, Maya Rudolph and Dax Shepard, it tells the story of Joe Bauers (Wilson), an American soldier who takes part in a classified military human hibernation experiment, only to accidentally awaken 500 years later in a dystopian society, in which commercialism has run rampant, and mankind has embraced anti-intellectualism and is devoid of intellectual curiosity, social responsibility, and coherent notions of justice and human rights.”

Netflix:
End of the F***ing World
Bojack Horseman (if you haven't watched this, it is amazing, so hilarious, and a really dark take on the human spirit)
Arrested Development is good for a rewatch

Hulu
Saturday Night Live (I'm rewatching old seasons to get to my zoned out happy place)
Brooklyn Nine Nine will do in a pinch
Pen 15 (kind of in the tradition of Strangers with Candy, but more poignant)

Schitt's Creek on Netflix! It's Arrested Development with nice (but very damaged and weird) people.

I second serial mom
And what about bob? For the new hampshire eye candy

Three Kings - snarky war movie with a melodramatic part too. Clooney, Wahlberg, Ice Cube.

Dr. Strangelove - also deals with war obv., but old school snark

Loved Arrested development! Also rewatched all of Cheers. Really still very funny. Also second (?) the suggestion for Juno. The last 3/4 of it is so great.

The Lobster. Weird but awesome movie with Rachel Weisz and Colin Farrell. And Olivia Coleman.

Also, The Favorite, with two of those actors.
