What is your favorite and why?
Most overrated and why? |
| Favorites are Aspen and Jackson. Great towns, great restaurants and excellent skiing. Also love Vail. Alta is my favorite ski area but there is no town. |
My favorite places to ski are the places with no town. That is how you select for the most serious skiers Plus after a day of skiing I prefer to eat in.
But as towns go, I do love Sun Valley/Ketchum. |
| I haven't skied as many places as I would like to- need to try Utah, would like to go to Big Sky, but my favorite is probably Taos or Winter Park. Great skiing without the crowds. Most overrated for me is Aspen. Great skiing, but too expensive and too high falutin' for me. Favorite close to home skiing is Canann Valley. The last two winters have been pretty rough, but in the past pre-global warming, Canaan would usually get dumped on- nearly 200" of natural snow, cold enough to make plenty more, and the best part, only a three hour drive away. |
| Love Whistler but the snow can be hit or miss. Verbier if I could jump on a flight now. |
| Favorites are park city and Zermatt......the latter had better skiing and the lazy wine-fueled lunches on the mountain were amazing. |

Aspen is a special place of horribleness. So pretentious and snotty.
Best - Park City. |
| Farellones - three good/great ski areas nearby, and easy access from Santiago. |
| Aspen because I don’t ski with poor folks. |
| I like Breck. The town is laid back and unpretentious |
Big Sky is great and if you like Winter Park, you will likely like skiing Big Sky. The lifts are fancy (heated seats, covered chairs etc) but the scene isn't that fancy and the skiing's itself is great. The town isn't that great but you can do day trips to Yellowstone, which sounds awesome. |
Vail isn’t a town. It’s a development. |
| Telluride. |
| Driggs Idaho and Grand Targhee. |
+1. Great laid back town without the pretenses. The mountain is amazing. |
