I cannot keep food in the house. I'm constantly stressed about getting my next grocery delivery (haven't been able to get one in over a week). I'm also gaining weight even though we are outside more and more active than ever. WTF. how are you all coping? i feel like i'm only going to stay sane another week or so. |
they "swear" they are hungry. i've pressed them and outright refused to give them more, but they persist. they are truly more active so i feel bad withholding food since they are clearly burning more calories.

Give them more healthy fats in their diet and see if that changes things. |
if I could get a grocery delivery, I would!

Give them better options. If they're eating crap, they're going to be hungry faster |
Go to the store. I am personally really uncomfortable with this whole dynamic of privileged people being delivered food and outsourcing the risk. Wear a mask and gloves. All the food employees are and almost nobody is there. |
SAME. My boys are 3 and 4 and we are plowing through food. But, we are also averaging 2-3 miles a day of biking and hiking, plus gardening and just playing. I do not offer snacks at all but instead serve HUGE meals: rice cooked in cream, vegetables with cheese. LOTS of full fat food. As such, I have to be super active also. LOTS of nut butter, smoothies. It's hard with the food but what to do!? |
NP, and hey, I'm uncomfortable with it, too, but having more people in the store is not better for anyone. |
This. I was thinking about this earlier. It reminds me of how in the civil war, wealthy people could pay someone else (poor person) or send their slave to take their place in the military. |
And if we all go to the store, we’re putting store workers at risk, and Instacart people will be out of a job. |
There is already a shortage of delivery slots. |
Whatever |
feed them lots of filling foods. Big bowls of oatmeal in the morning will be better than cold cereal. Celery or bananas with peanut butter. Buy popcorn and an air popper and let them have as much as they want. Some food is more satisfying than others...like I could eat a lot of string cheese but only a little feta. |
OP, what are they eating? You don't say example foods. |
How old are your kids? You need to go to the store. I have two college kids and one plays a D1 sport. I can't begin to tell you how much they eat. I go to the store once a week, in full Covid regalia. It's totally doable. |
