Only in arlington will someone getting attacked by criminals be charged
whats the message, if you are in arlington criminal break in? https://www.arlnow.com/2020/03/29/police-store-employee-charged-after-shooting-would-be-thief/ |
| New prosecutor in Arlington. There was a thread about it. |
|
This is ridiculous! Those criminals got what they deserve.
Play with fire and you may get burned. |
|
"An employee inside a secure back room heard the break in, retrieved a firearm, opened the door to the sales floor and discharged the weapon, striking one juvenile subject."
That's why it's illegal. You can shoot someone for self defense but not for defense of property in a store. |
+1 So sick of criminals thinking they can do whatever they want without consequences. |
|
Lock that sh1t up.
That vigilante BS is for Hicksville, VA. |

So the penalty for petty theft is death? Good to know... I sure hope you guys feel the same way about white collar criminals - the ones who look like you and are stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars instead of cigarettes. |
It's called breaking and entering. If you encounter someone while breaking into someones house or business, there is a high probability that some lead will be headed your way. Charges will likely be dropped in this case. |
|
This is why you always shoot to kill. Dead men can’t argue self defense.
My husband and I are both excellent shots. If anyone breaks into our house they don’t stand a chance. |
It’s beyond intellectually dishonest to equate the two. White-collar criminals don’t pose the same sort of risk of physical violence. Play with fire, get burned. I would never vote to convict this guy if I were on the jury. |

Arlington used to be known for giving criminals no bail. It was why crime here was so low. Liberal millennials elected a new progressive DA just because she’s a Democrat recently who wants to be soft on crime. Now, cars are getting broken into every night all captured on ring. The criminals don’t care because there are no consequences.
FWIW, the police have said that there are non public extenuating circumstances about why the victim was charged. Maybe he was a felon and not allowed to own a Firearm? https://www.postindependent.com/opinion/shannon-column-george-soros-continues-to-collect-district-attorneys/ |
| Arlington might have elected tafti but no Arlington jury willl convict this guy. |
|
I'm scared this will happen more. People don't feel like they can trust the police and with the pandemic, people's anxieties are at an all time high.
Also it's a vape shop. |

The video shows the shooter shooting the victim/robber, in the back.

The modern court prefers to overcharge and allow the defendant to plead guilty to a lesser offense. Especially effective with poor defendants that can't afford anything more than a overworked public defender. |
