I would. I don’t want cowboy vigilantes shooting down anyone they want.

The modern court prefers to overcharge and allow the defendant to plead guilty to a lesser offense. Especially effective with poor defendants that can't afford anything more than a overworked public defender.

People should not rob stores. Period.

And as for poor defendants, if you don’t wanna do the time then don’t do the crime.

Get a grip. This wasn't a cowboy vigilante.....it was a shop owner defending his store from multiple robbers at 5 AM.

They aren't shooting down "anyone they want." They are shooting people who were breaking and entering. I'm so happy I live in a place where you wouldn't get in trouble for this kind of bullshit.

He was a taxpayer just trying to make a living.

So the penalty for petty theft is death?

Good to know...

Alternatively, it’s pretty stupid to peg the value of your life as some smokes and petty cash.

I’m perfectly ok with burglars being shot in the back.

And there are plenty of other people in Arlington who are ok with people defending their peop tand businesses, and odds are, at least one (or more) will be in the jury box next to you.

Boom, instant hung jury, no conviction.

Defending the store? Fck the store. If he were defending his life that's another story. But the store?

LOCK HIM UP.

I’m fine with that.

They smashed a store front open. It’s not “petty theft”. How can you make excuses for those people??

shooting him once probably wouldn't have gotten him charged. retreating and then returning to the store and shooting the thief in the back as he was leaving is the problem.
