This makes much more sense as to why she hasn’t withdrawn. She probably wants to cheer on her teammates so she won’t withdraw yet to give her more than a 48 hour window.

She could potentially do beam I think that would be the least risky event for her to compete and just do a simpler dismount if she feels safe enough to do that. (She normally completes a double twisting double back flip or a full twisting double backflip but she could potentially just do a double back or omit a dismount even) My guess is that if she does not feel comfortable competing a dismount she will not compete because there will be so much backlash otherwise

No one seems angry or unhinged to me. From the things I read it just seems like the normal range or opinions and criticism that would have applied to any popular public figure athlete that dropped out of the Olympics citing mental health. Of course that is going to bring on commentary.

If she can't do the dismount there's no point in competing altogether, she'd be 5th at best. Why bother?

Btw I read a very interesting interview with Svetlana Khorkina, who is sympathetic toward Biles and thinks her problems are physical not mental.

Looks like she is going to compete for beam.

Hope she pulls out in time for someone else to compete.

Why should it bring on commentary? No one would complain if she twisted her ankle. Mental issues can be just as dangerous to a gymnast. It's sad that in 2021, people still have such misconceptions and stigma around mental health challenges.

No one else qualified, so no one else can do the event.
Of course she’s the only one who is capable of qualifying for all four events.
That’s because she’s the goat.

Yup. Same as the ill-informed repeated posters whining about how she's such a "diva" for "breaking the rules" by not going home immediately, when she was 100% not required to do any such thing.

Seriously, what on earth. There are 3 alternates who would probably love a shot at the competition. If there's no Biles, Urara Ashikawa of Japan gets her spot.

And it was totally narcissistic for her to remain in Japan to steal the spotlight from her teammates. Rules don't apply to the annoying diva.

Yes but we can’t say this or else we are racist
